Volunteer
Support our work
The work of Wildfire heavily relies on support from an amazing team of volunteers. With a wide range of groups and activities across the Winchester area there are plenty of opportunities to join our team and gain some youth work experience, or support the behind the scenes of our charity. Get in touch!
We take the safeguarding of the young people and individuals we work with very seriously. In line with our safeguarding policy, all volunteers will be required to follow our recruitment process and complete a DBS check where necessary. You can find our safeguarding policy at the bottom of the page.

Work with us
Who we are
Wildfire was founded in 2016 during ‘Tent on the Green’, a worship festival where youth workers across Winchester came together to welcome young people into God’s presence. The Wildfire team have continued to work together ever since with the same vision; to help create safe spaces for young people to encounter God’s love in a way that transforms their lives and equips them to reach their potential.
The work of Wildfire has grown and developed to include connections with 19 churches of varying denominations and regular work within Winchester’s secondary schools. The team collaborates on termly city-wide evangelistic events, as well as an annual residential weekend away. In April 2023 Wildfire was given charity status, enabling us to run yet further with the vision, and to advertise this post for our first youth worker in this pioneering role!
Wildfire also works in partnership with organisations such as Scripture Union, Golddigger Trust, and Relational Hub, who support us in our vision of ‘revealing Jesus’ to those not yet connected to the Church in a way that is 100% relational.
These partnerships offer our team the chance to benefit from training, forming part of our commitment to excellence and growth as leaders.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone to join our friendly team who is passionate about spreading the message of God’s love like ‘Wildfire’ to the next generation!
We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm, lots of ideas and a prayerful approach to reaching young people in their spaces.
Could that person be you?!
